Youth Olympics Mascots pitch

This is what I did for my company's pitch for Youth Olympics 2010! Just a rough sketch, not refined and vectorised. It wasn't chosen, now that I look at it again there's alot to be improved lol.. , but the concept for the final design chosen was kinda similar in some way? what do you think?
